Weekly Foodservice Market Information from Honor Foods

Weekly Market Update for 03/27/26

Valuable insights on the latest market price changes for eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.

Here is a look at the markets:

Eggs:

The shell egg market has begun to decline rapidly. After reaching $2.01 for the NE large market on 3/17, the drop started on Monday and has plummeted $.39 in four days.  With the retail Easter pull over, we can expect to see this trend continue for a few weeks. We have dropped prices accordingly. No change on processed eggs.

Butter:

This week has brought some strength back to the market.  Churns remain busy as producers look to build inventories.  Both retail and food service demand remains strong. Export interest has been strong.

Cheese:

The block cheese market has drifted over the course of the week. The week ending average may finish slightly higher than last week but appears poised to move lower. Retail demand remains strong, but export demand is starting to wane. Bulk demand is considered soft. Spot milk availability has been tight and milk supplies are now considered constrained. Increased freight costs are a concern with rising fuel prices. The Land O’Lakes/New Yorker retail brands remain attractively priced. Cream cheese prices are slightly lower this week on Alouette. The best value on bulk cream cheese is on the High Desert label (14350). This will be the last week of the Finlandia Swiss promo, with prices going up $.25/lb April 6. There is a major shortage on Cooper sharp white cheese (code 1299) and the price is up as well.

Fluid Dairy:

Fluid Dairy – prices are higher for April on heavy cream, half & half, sour cream and cottage cheese, driven by a strong butter market. We are stocking Brighton Farms heavy cream and creamers for Unipro members! Please contact your sales associate for details!
