Dave’s Weekly Market Update for 11/13/25
Valuable insights on the latest market price changes for eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.
Eggs:
With the holiday demand for baking, retailers are bidding up the market to make sure they are adequately supplied prior to Thanksgiving. Oddly enough, breaking stock for further processing is in abundant supply and whole frozen eggs dropped this week.
Butter:
The market went up today but is still unbelievably inexpensive now. The large size of the herds coupled with the extremely high fat content of the milk has generated an abundance of cream that is available for the churns. I would think that butter should rise some due to the extremely low price, but these days it is a hard call.
Cheese:
The cheese market has dropped substantially as the world market is low and exports are weak. If nothing changes next week, we will be lowering prices again as the close is lower than the current average.
Cream and Cream Cheese:
Due to the recent declines in butter, all labels of cream cheese will be down for next week.
Oils and shortenings:
Liquid shortening – The soybean oil market is trading slightly higher this week. We are well positioned on clear fry. Please bring opportunities!
