Weekly Market Update for 07/24/26
Valuable insights on the latest market price changes for eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.
Here is a look at the markets:
Eggs:
The shell egg market continues to rise but may be nearing its peak. The NE large market hit $1.45/doz on Thursday, up .27 over last week. Mediums remain unchanged at $.60 and a substantial value compared to large. Will demand for mediums increase and prices start to rise? Heat continues to impact the industry along with increased export demand. We have brought in some cage free. Prices on cage free are up slightly this week as well.
Butter:
The market is falling again this week. Hard to believe how cheap compared to last year as well as other typical years. Market levels are almost $1.00/lb less than a year ago. We have attractive pricing on High Desert label as well as Cabot label butter solids. Dinner Bell butter cups (13705 and 13739) have been replaced by Grassland label (40510 and 40511) at the same price level. We also have Sommer Maid butter cups (40495, 40500) available.
Cheese:
The block market continues its climb! Supply from DFA is improving on Jacobo, Enricco and Savoldi mozzarella and provolone. Bongards continues to struggle with keeping the pipeline filled but our inventories appear to be in good shape. One of our goat cheese suppliers, Hudson Valley Creamery, just shipped their last order so we are now out of their label goat crumbles ((code 14364) but have Alouette label (14378) as an alternative at the same price. We also received the last of the Hudson Valley label 2/2.5lb goat logs (14363) as well as 12/10.5oz logs (14362) so please look for Sommer Maid label alternatives (40470 and 40471) once stock has been depleted. Check out the attractive pricing on Swiss cheese, especially under the Block Essentials brand! This week we are bringing in Dinner Bell label sliced processed American cheese (standard of identity with the real seal!). We have 160 white (code 40258) and 160 yellow (12212) along with white loaf (13813) and yellow loaf (13807).
Fluid Dairy:
Check out the attractive pricing on Sommer Maid heavy cream, half & half and sour cream products! This week we have lowered prices on the Sommer Maid 36% and 40%! Check out the savings!
