Weekly Market Update for 09/25/26

Here is a look at the markets:
Eggs:
No changes in the market this week. Retail market remains quiet. Supplies are in balance.
Butter:
There was false hope on Wednesday that the market may move forward, but a reality check Thursday that the market may not be ready for any change. The week ending average is on track to finish the same as last week. On butter cups, we are short on Grassland label so please consider using the Sommer Maid label (40495, 40500). With butter being so cheap, this is a great time to feature European 82% or 83% butter! Check out the attractive pricing on Sommer Maid Gold 82% (40210), Plugra 82% (13313) or Cabot 83% (12623).
Cheese:
The block market will finish lower for the sixth straight week! The best value on sliced American is Dinner Bell label sliced processed American cheese (standard of identity with the real seal!). We have 160 white (code 40258) and 160 yellow (12212) along with white loaf (13813) and yellow loaf (13807). Inventories on Bongards sliced American are good at this time. On cream cheese, we no longer have the Hahn’s 1oz cups (40606), so please move to Sommer Maid label (40609) along with 36/8oz cream cheese bars (40608). We have received our first shipment from our new Sommer Maid goat cheese supplier. Please check out the value on the 2/2lb goat crumbles (tray pack, code 40472) along with 10.5oz goat logs (40471).
Fluid Dairy:
We are just starting to get prices for October. For the week of 10/5, expect slightly lower prices on heavy cream, but slightly higher prices on half & half, sour cream and cottage cheese.
