Weekly Foodservice Market Information from Honor Foods

Dave’s Weekly Market Update for 11/07/25

Valuable insights on the latest market price changes for eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.

Eggs:

The egg market increases are accelerating so I expect there will be much more next week. We will see some increases on Newburg frozen, but I am dropping on the 15/2 liquid whole eggs. There are decreases on the Deb El Cage Free egg items as well.

Butter:

I was trying to find out when butter was this low but can’t seem to find a good report. Needless to say, this is the lowest it has been in years, especially for the busiest time of year for butterfat. I have to guess that at some point butter will turn around. Below shows the futures for butter heading into the Easter baking season. They show decent increases, but time shall tell as to what really happens. Bottom line, butter is unbelievably inexpensive at this point.

Cheese:

Cheese turned downwards this week and if nothing major happens in the next week we will be lowering prices again at the end of next week. Crazy times in the dairy world to say the least.

Cream and Cream Cheese:

We have some big decreases for you this week on cream and lower prices on the Schreiber brands of cream cheese.

Oils and shortenings:

Liquid shortening – The soybean oil market remains a little unsettled with the US-China trade agreement.  China has committed to buying US Soybeans, so we may see a rise in the market.  We have seen soybean oil prices mainly on a downward slope for over a year.  We are well positioned on Old World clear fry.  The oil category has been added to the Commodity Pricing (go to the bottom). The descriptions have been updated so all items begin with “OIL” instead of “Shortening.”  You may price into next week.  It is no longer on commodity holds for the following week.
