Dave’s Weekly Market Update — May 8, 2023

Each week Honor Foods Dairy Specialist David Albert provides you with Dave’s Weekly Market Update, with some valuable insights on the most current market price changes on eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.

Eggs:

The eggs finally hit the bottom and stopped dropping. I would think that retail will start featuring them again and the market may bounce back but nowhere near as high as it was.

Butter:

Butter bounced back somewhat this week and finished slightly higher than it has been for a few weeks. I expect more of the same going forward, prices in this range for the near future.

Cheese:

Blocks remained at about the same level as the average is the same as last week. Barrels rose slightly from their low levels. The volume on Barrels has slowed down as compared to the huge volume in the past few weeks. The spread has narrowed but is still higher than historical norms. It is nice to see some normalcy in the markets and your inventory values not dropping like the past month.

Cream:

The supply of cream has bounced back and there is plenty available. If you are not buying our Golden Sunshine or Sommer Maid products please ask your sales rep for our great prices! We want your business!

All of us at Honor Foods thank you for your business!
