Dave’s Weekly Market Update for 09/12/25
Valuable insights on the latest market price changes for eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.
Eggs:
The shell egg market hasn’t moved in three weeks. Retail demand is sluggish and supplies are more than adequate to meet demand. On liquid eggs, the best value is on the 15/2lb Newburg label (code 13953).

Butter:
After a slight tease with the market closing higher last Thursday, Friday and Monday, butter has dropped considerably the last two trading sessions, closing Thursday at $1.9275. This is the first time the market has fallen below $2.00 since December 2, 2021. This is somewhat surprising as butter inventories are lighter. How much lower can this market go? Still no word on when we will have Sommer Maid butter cups available again due to packaging. Please continue to substitute the Honeybrook.
Cheese:
The block market is on track to finish lower for the fourth consecutive week. Demand is fair. Export volume is decent. Cream cheese prices continue to fall with the lower butter market. We have a very attractive price on High Desert bulk cream cheese (14350). BelGioioso prices are lower for September and that change is reflected. Also look for lower prices on Bongards and Sommer Maid label American cheese. Finlandia imported Swiss is up $.10/lb to match their national price list. Look for the next promo in October.
Cream and Cream Cheese:
Fluid cream is dropping tomorrow for next week. Cream cheese is still trending downwards as it lags behind butter.
Dairy:
Saputo is changing brands on the 360ct aseptic creamers. Next week we will be running out of Dairy Star (6603) and switching to Saputo label (12818) at the same price.
Have a great weekend!
