Dave’s Weekly Market Update — April 7, 2023

Each week Honor Foods Dairy Specialist David Albert provides you with Dave’s Weekly Market Update, with some valuable insights on the most current market price changes on eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.

Eggs:

To put it mildly, eggs are in a free fall. The egg market always overreacts, but this is crazy. I can only guess we will see more next week as judged by the huge drops this week.

Butter:

Butter came down this week with only 7 loads changing hands. I think it should not go much lower as ice cream manufacturers start building inventory. I still feel that we will see markets staying between $2.30 and $2.45 for the foreseeable future.

Cheese:

There were major corrections in the cheese markets this week. It seems as if the Block has bottomed out and rebounded slightly in the past 2 days. Barrels continue to be weak.

Vitalife Plant based shredded Mozzarella by Saputo – In 2 weeks we are bringing in this product and will have some samples for you to show to your customers. Pizza shops, universities and customers presently buying other plant based items are great targets for this item. Please ask around and then request samples from your rep when the product arrives late in the week of the 17th.

We all thank you for your business and hope you have a great weekend.
