Dave’s Weekly Market Update — October 24th, 2022

Good Afternoon!

Eggs:

The egg market will just not quit rising. The supplies are tight as holiday demand is ramping up. I think we will see more next week, but hopefully less of an increase. Stay tuned.

Butter:

The Butter market softened this week with only a few loads trading hands. I still feel that the butter pricing will hold at these lofty levels for a few more weeks at the minimum. Futures do show it decreasing in both November and December. It has been really hard to judge the markets in the last few years.

Cheese:

Both blocks and Barrels slipped this week. Blocks only a few cents and barrels almost 20 cents. The spread is finally in the proper perspective. Blocks over Barrels but much higher than the old normal of 2 or 3 cents.

Cream:

The supply of cream in the North East is terrible. Seemingly all packers are shorting the foodservice trade as retail seems to be getting the lion’s share. We are bringing in ESL Half and Half  packed 6/1/2gallons tomorrow. We will have this to sell as of Monday.

All of the team thanks you for your continued business and we hope you have a great weekend.

Go Phillies!
