Each week Honor Foods Dairy Specialist David Albert provides you with Dave’s Weekly Market Update, with some valuable insights on the most current market price changes on eggs, butter, cheese, and cream products.

Eggs:

Eggs continue to rise, but at a slower pace. I think we are very close to the top of this market as the retail push is nearing a close and distributors warehouses have been filled.

Butter:

Butter dropped again after rising earlier in the week. Not many loads were traded. There is a tightness of bulk butter especially from the West coast. I believe that is what caused the jumps Monday and Tuesday. I am still of the thought that butter will continue to drift downwards in the coming weeks. The big holiday orders are behind us in retail.  

Cheese:

We have a mixed bag with Barrels rising and blocks dropping. I am unsure why the strength in Barrels as it certainly is not BBQ season and not everyone is firing up cheeseburgers! Blocks closed lower than the average so chances are Blocks will go down again next week.
