Eggs are through the roof due to the bird flu. I expect more drastic jumps. See below:
The impact from the recent Ohio HPAI (Bird flu) outbreak is having a dramatic impact by driving the weekly Urner Barry market prices up again. Bids to buy eggs are once again far outnumbering offers to sell. Since last week's announcement on egg layers in Ohio, turkey flocks have tested positive in Minnesota & California, and last Sunday in Sanpete county UTAH.

The egg market is aggressively rising this week. There has been another HPAI Avian Flu outbreak in Ohio. The supply of cage free and organic eggs is very short to the needs of the marketplace.

The egg market rose slightly this week as inventories are somewhat in balance. I assume in a few weeks the traditional 4th quarter increases will begin as commercial bakeries begin building inventories for the upcoming holidays.

The egg market is gradually rising this week as demand returns as more school systems reopen. It is nice to see it be gradual instead of the usual over reaction that the market normally does. I expect more next week and hope it stays moderate. Here is the recap from Urner Barry.

The eggs hit bottom this week as demand is picking up removing the excess supplies from the marketplace. As schools begin to open down south the demand is increasing and as of yesterday the smaller eggs were trending upwards. My thoughts are that we will see a modest increase next week.

Eggs:
Once again, weekly Urner Barry markets continued increasing on all Lg, XL & Jumbo sizes for next week, but now Mediums have joined the move upward. Most birds lost to HPAI are still out, but heat continues taking its toll on all by reducing egg sizes. Retail demand is good, Food Service is strong and further processors are actively buying shell eggs while exports are not a significant factor in the current market. We keep expecting the Large plus market to level out soon, but not quite yet.
