Honor Foods Parent Company, Burris Logistics, Recognized as a USA Today Top Workplace

Honor Foods is Proud to Celebrate Burris Logistics, Our Parent Company, for Being Named a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplace.

This recognition is a testament to the culture we share built on putting people first, teamwork, strong values, and creating an environment where our teams can grow and succeed.

The USA TODAY Top Workplaces recognition honors organizations with 150+ team members that are committed to building strong, people-first cultures. Selected from more than 42,000 invited companies, winners are determined by authentic team member feedback collected through a confidential Energage survey. The results reflect key workplace experience themes that are proven drivers of engagement and performance. This year’s honorees were featured by USA TODAY and recognized at the National Awards Summit in Nashville.

This recognition is meaningful to Honor Foods because it reflects the values that guide our business and our commitment to our people. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, we’re able to help our team members succeed and, in turn, better serve our customers and partners.

“Being named a USA TODAY Top Workplace is an honor because it speaks directly to the culture our Team Members help create every day,” says Honor Foods President JD Spangler. “At Honor Foods, we are committed to building an environment where people feel valued, heard, and connected to a shared purpose. This recognition belongs to our team and the culture they make stronger through their dedication and heart.”

At Honor Foods, we’re proud to be part of Burris Logistics, which recently celebrated 100 years as a fifth-generation, family-owned business. Alongside our sister companies, Trinity Logistics and Eagle Business Credit, we’re part of a broader organization delivering dependable supply chain solutions and factoring services. With more than 950 team members across 15 locations, Burris supports businesses nationwide through foodservice redistribution, freight management, logistics technology, and factoring. Within this network, Honor Foods plays a key role by connecting suppliers and distributors through efficient foodservice redistribution.

“This recognition means a lot to us because it comes directly from our Team. Our purpose statement, ‘Improving lives and supply chains by solving tough problems’ is really the driving force of all that we do. We believe that when we take care of our people, we’re also taking care of our customers, partners, and each other. I’m proud of the culture our teams have built across our companies. It’s about showing up every day, supporting each other, and continuing to grow together,” said Donnie Burris, CEO of Burris Logistics.

This recognition reflects the people behind our success. Team Members from Honor Foods, R.W. Zant, and Sunny Morning, along with Team Members across the broader Burris Logistics organization consistently point to supportive leadership, opportunities for growth, and a strong set of values as a few of the reasons they consider Burris Logistics to be a top workplace, while describing the culture as fun, collaborative, empowering, supportive, and positive.

“This award is an honor that truly reflects the voices of the Team Members at Trinity Logistics and those across Burris,” said Sarah Ruffcorn, President of Trinity. “It speaks to the special culture we have built together- grounded in trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improve lives and supply chains. All of us at Trinity are incredibly proud to be a part of it!”

In addition to this recognition, Burris Logistics has achieved record-high safety scores, ranking its companies in the upper quartile of the industry, while also maintaining some of the lowest turnover rates in its history.

“Earning a USA TODAY Top Workplaces award is a testament to an organization’s credibility and commitment to a people-first culture,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “This award, driven by real employee feedback, is more than just a recognition — it’s proof that your employees believe in the organization and its leadership. Job seekers and customers look for this trusted badge of credibility and excellence. It signals a company that values its people, and that kind of culture resonates in today’s competitive market.”

At Honor Foods, we’re proud to be part of a culture that continues to be recognized at the highest level. This achievement reinforces our commitment to our people, our partners, and the work we do every day, and we look forward to continuing to build on that foundation in the years ahead.
